So far it was not possible to include sensitive consumables like absorbable sutures, medication, irrigation solutions, or any ETO-sensitive products inside surgical procedure packs. Piggy-back attachments to the packs had to be made.  Here such sensitive products were taped to the outside of the surgery pack – after its sterilisation.
Common disadvantages of piggy-backs:
The attachments are not fixated efficiently and fall off.  Coordination  and handling between the non-sterile and sterile nurse are more difficult. Piggy-backs pose an increased risk of contamination and slow the work-flow.


Therefore M.E.D. came up with an integral solution:  RABBIT
